Swipeclean

Privacy Policy

Effective October 14, 2026

The short version: Swipeclean does not collect or share any of your data.

Everything it does happens on your Mac, and nothing leaves it. There's no account, no analytics, no ads and no network access.

What Swipeclean looks at

To find what takes up space, Swipeclean reads the names, sizes, dates and file types of items on your Mac, using folders you give it access to and the macOS Spotlight index. For previews it asks macOS for thumbnails, and to find similar photos it compares images using Apple's on-device Vision framework. None of this leaves your Mac.

What Swipeclean stores

On your Mac only, inside the app's own container: the results of your last scans so they open instantly, the list of items you chose to keep, how much space you've freed, and your settings. … › Clear Cache removes the saved scan results and … › Show Kept Items Again clears the keep list.

What Swipeclean deletes

Only items you swipe away or select yourself. They are moved to the Trash first and are removed for good only when you choose Delete Permanently.

Permissions

Folder access is used only to scan and clean up the folders you grant. Notifications, if you allow them, tell you when a scan finishes, when your disk is almost full, or give a weekly summary. They are created on your Mac.

Third parties

Swipeclean contains no third-party SDKs, trackers or advertising, and does not sell or share data with anyone. Purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; we don't receive your payment details.

Children

Swipeclean doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
